I need feminism because this advertisement exists.

The “svedka fem-bot” is taking objectification of the female body to a new extreme.

She is just a body, not a human. She is using sex appeal to sell alcohol.  She is there to be looked at and manipulated. She has no needs of her own. She has no agency.

And then add to it a text not only glorifying the idea of a “trophy wife,” but also promoting this objectification by equating her with a robot, an alcohol company, a purely physical and lifeless substance?!

I need feminism because someone thought of this ad campaign, and someone else thought it was a good idea, and some more people thought it would make money—and along the way, nobody involved in this company’s marketing decided it wasn’t a good message to be sending.

I need feminism because apparently this is a successful marketing technique, because these advertisements are all over. 

I need feminism because I only recently stopped to think about how offensive this advertisement was. This kind of sexism should not go unnoticed.
